ABOUT ME AND WHAT I DO

Pistol Designs began several years ago when I began designing around wooden handles purchased from a shop in New York. As I outgrew the limitations of those handles, I figured out a way to make my own (thanks, Nick!). The Supper Clutch has the first of the handles cut to follow my design. Now they’re all originals.

My mom taught me how to sew when I was young, just as her mom taught her, whose mom taught her. She is a lovely, gentle woman who made me rip out crooked seams so I’d learn how to do it right. She taught me the difference between handmade and homemade and gave me an appreciation for the venerable art of sewing.

I have always been fascinated and inspired by vintage fashion. My designs are rooted in that fascination, then modernized. The result is clean lines and softly geometric details with a decidedly feminine form. The process of choosing new fabrics, all color and texture, then working them into little sculptures is an incomparable pleasure. Seeing the enthusiastic reactions garnered by the uniqueness of my designs has been a real thrill.

Thanks for the love,
